This is a question relating to this thread. I have an asus z97-a motherboard and an I5 devils canyon cpu. Should I just use the asus overclock software if I don't want to do max oc with it? I have a Thermaltake Water 3.0 360mm liquid cooler and the Thermaltake Core V71 Extreme full tower with all 4 200mm fans and 2 140mm Noctua fans and the 3 120mm Thermaltake fans that came with the cooler pushing with the radiator right under the 200mm top exhaust fans for a push/pull effect. I'm hoping cooling is set. Just wanted some advice and suggestions.

Overclocking software has two big drawbacks.

1. To allow for the variability in chips, it uses more voltage then necessary for most chips. It is too brutal.

2. 'Push button' is essentially Magic. You have no clue how it worked and cannot tune, optimize or troubleshoot.

Using BIOS is slower and more delicate, but you learn a lot about how it works and can make intelligent decisions.
