New ASUS mobo, I have a 120gb OCG agility SSD with my OS on it. mobo finds my storage HDD and cd drive just fine but its having trouble with the SSD. Its not find a "bootable device" ive tried all sata ports and get same results. I finally got it to work by chosing it from the "force boot menu" which its located there but no where else. so it boots up and when i restart it starts all over. so basically every time I turn on the PC i have to enter BIOS (which I have updated during this) and select force boot the ssd every time. this ssd was on my old pc and I have not reformated. one of my friends told me my "boot sector" might be screwed up. any ideas?

I think the controller for that SSD isn't completely compatible.

I had similar issues with an OCZ Vertex 2 not working in my Asus Z87 Gryphon. The same SSD had been used for an earlier PC just fine.

When I Googled the issue it turns out it was a compatibility issue with the controller and my motherboard and there is no solution.

I'm not saying that's the problem, but it sounds almost certain since the SSD worked before and your board works with an HDD.

I understand and saw a few threads about the sandforce/haswell conflict but I dont understand that being the true problem if I can still boot and run off it just fine through bios. to me it seems like a software issue that can be fixed I just dont know what. I can even go to sleep fine and wake it fine, so i guess I will just do that until I can afford a new SSD.

How do you know that any of those are compatible and I wont run into same issue if its true?

It's my understanding that the compatibility issues don't exist with any modern SSD's, or if so it's quite rare.

They seem to have analyzed the SSD's that had problems and corrected the issues.

Obviously I can't guarantee.
