[SOLVED] Asus Z97-A, TP-Link TG-3468 and Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD

Hello,

Long story short, i had to buy a network adapter a couple of years ago, i forgot i had it and after i bought NVMe SSD, i'm encountering a problem as i have two options in BIOS when i try to enable my SSD:

1. PCIeX1 1 and 2 slot at x1 mode
2. M.2 mode

My network adapter is installed in one of the slots so if i switch to M.2 mode, i don't have an internet connection, if i leave it at PCIeX1 1 and 2 slot at x1 mode, i can't use my SSD.

My question is, is there a way to enable both at the same time ?

Why dont you plug your wifi adapter into the x16 slot beneath the gpu?

The PCIe x1_1/2 slots share bandwidth with M.2 Socket 3. The M.2 Socket 3 is default disabled.

Try using one of these for your network card.
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x2 mode)

I hate to admit that the shape of that slot was misleading enough to make me believe that was not an option, and without you, i wouldn't have tried xD Thanks a lot.
