what mobo should I get?

got these components:
OCZ Fatal1ty 550w 80+ bronze
Gigabyte gtx 960
Crucial 16gb 1600mhz cl8 (2x8gb)

Will buy the intel i7 4790k with the new mobo but what mobo should I get?

based on gaming,streaming,video editing and I don't know about OC maybe that will be needed later on.

is the 3.1 worth it?

The HERO is way better. But your comparing two mobos with completely different prices, so the pricier one is obviously going to be better. This would be a different story if you said the Z97-PRO vs HERO.

USB 3.1 is going to take a little while to get mainstream, however it will last just as long if not longer than usb 3.0.
