Been pulling my hair out over this. I have an i7 4790k in an Asus z97-AR mb and attempting to install windows each time I booting my pc it sends me directly to bios.

With my video card in the boot logo appears for a few seconds I have a blinking cursor in the top left which moves to the middle after a couple blinks. It then goes back to the top left. This cycle happens a couple times and then it sends me to biOs.

Without my video card installed I don't even get the cursor but am sent directly to bios.

I have configured my boot settings properly and have made sure all my wires are properly connected. No idea what's going on.

Any help?

As far as I can tell.

Boot order has been set up properly. Never really had to do much more than that with previous builds.

So I went to bios and set optimized defaults.

Where do I set the timings?

I have never had to do that with any of my previous builds. Where would I find that?

Also I am trying to boot from my optical drive. It's my first priority in bios. Even tried bringing up the boot menu and selecting it manually.

Same result.

Okay so I removed my video card and used the on board video.

Boot the computer and it sits on the boot logo for about 5 minutes. I hit f8 to bring up the boot menu and select my optical drive. Black screen with cursor remains on the screen for about 5 minutes and then back into bios.

Somewhat of an improvement only because it didn't put me into the bios so quickly.

This is driving me crazy!
