Asus Z97 choice between 2 boards

Would go for the cheapest one, the Maximus VII Hero. It is fully-featured. An overkill motherboard.

Maximus VII Hero for pure gaming.
Sabertooth for solid Reliability.

Well the thing is the Sabertooth board in my opinion looks a lot nice and just more solid in build quality and with that MB cover it's a Beaute for sure. I know the Hero is a beast, but they cost about the same so I didn't know what the difference really was in the build quality or maybe one had something the other didn't... etc etc...

Both are high quality mobos, I've had the Z87 Hero which I found to be the best of the Z87s and grabbed the Z97 Hero at release, it's even better, OCs better, handles DRAM better and higher, runs cooler, better BIOS...If going for high performance and stability I'd go the Hero of the two

Well SR-71 and I are psychic, and have the Hero's, there's another three or 4 folks here I think that got the Z87 Hero and have jumped into the Z97 Hero also

I'm gonna upgrade my RAM as well I have 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance right now 1600Mhz. Any of you all have suggestions?

I like the Tridents best on Haswell in general and the Asus mobos in particular. The Tri''s are high performance (tight CL) a good secondary choice is the GSkill SNipers

Been looking at my sig 😉 Great set, that's what I have in my Z87 Hero, am thinking of making it my set in the Z97 Hero or going to the 2800 sticks,,, ran those in the Z97 and could run them at 2800 with CL12
