OK so I've been troubleshooting this problem i have for about 2 weeks now and don't know what to do.
first build ever, i have never really even looked inside a pc.
parts and components
motherboard: Asus Z97-deluxe (brand new)
CPU: Intel i5 4670k (brand new)
PSU: cooler master v750 80 plus gold (brand new)
ram: Kingston Hyperx Fury 1x8gb 1866Mhz (brand new)
hdd: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm (brand new)
ssd: Samsung 840 EVO 250gb (brand new)
case: thermaltake commander g42 (window) (brand new)
Also have a corsair h100i extreme (brand new) but haven't installed yet waiting to see if it will work with the fan that came with the i5 first.
now that is out of the way. I have tried ever thing i could find on this forum (witch is GREAT). The psu is good i have checked it, so The Mobo power and reset switch light up when psu is switched on. All i have hooked up is the psu (BOTH 24 & 8 pin), heat-sink/fan that came with i5 core, 1 stick of ram 8gb (tried ever slot and without any in, manual says to have it in the second slot so that is where it is now) and the speaker that came with the case. Breadboard too. I cross the two pins with screw drive and the fans on both the cpu and psu spin for a second then stop, all lights shut off then come right back on but nothing happens no beeps no code. i also have it hooked up to tv with hdmi (waiting for monitor to get here around x-mas) With all that said is my mobo defective should i just send it back for exchange?
Any help would be much appreciated.
