Hello,

I recently bought a new Motherboard (z97-k) including a new gpu and cpu. My old Motherboard was an MSI A78M-E35. The LAN on the old motherboard was working perfectly fine but when i upgraded to the new one the Realtek LAN driver was failing. When I check on device manager it says 'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31)'. I have tried updating the driver but every time i try to install it ,it says it is detecting realtek ethernet card and cable, while it os doing this an error pops up saying 'The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If in deep sleep mode is enabled Please Plug the cable'. I have tried various Realtek drivers from many different websites but still no luck. Also, when i try to uninstall the driver from Device manager I restart my PC and it pops back up with the same error message. I have looked everywhere but i cant seem to find an answer and there aren't so many people with this problem so it is very difficult to fix.

Thanks,

When you replace your motherbd you should reinstall windows fresh. You apparently tried to reuse your old windows with the new systems and while it may work sometimes, in this case it did not. AMD to a new Intel build rarely does.

Go into Windows and uninstall the network driver, then install the driver that came with the mobo or download the latest driver from the mobo website (will need another computer to do that or if you have a wireless adapter can install it and download through it

I downloaded the driver and uninstalled the old one. when i first started the setup it popped up with Findfile failed, open file failed and close file failed, then the Realtek network controller was not found error popped up. i then uninstalled the family controlled in Device Manager and tried to do the setup again but then it said RTINSTCHK64.EXE has stopped working but when i click close program the error goes away then pops up again but the setup continues to the next part.

When I uninstall the driver via the setup, and i uninstall the family controller in Device Manager then run the setup it doesn't crash or give the findfile failed, openfile failed.etc. but the 'The Realtek Ethernet Controller was not found. If in deep sleep mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.' error still pops up.

Thanks.

Also, when the ethernet cable is connected the SPEED LEN is solid and the ACT/LINK LED flashes as though it has internet. I tried to email ASUS Support but their website is acting strangely.

I ran the registry cleaner and made sure everything was clean. I then ran command prompt and started the SFC /SCANNOW twice. both times it said 'Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.'

I oppened the log and it said 'Cannot repair member file 'utc.app.json' and it said 'pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITCTURE_AMD64' further down the line
