[SOLVED] ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer BIOS update

Hey, I have been wondering about BIOS update eversince that "meltdown/Spectre" thing. I still can not find BIOS fix for this. My motherboard is Z97-Pro Gamer. I checked and my other motherboard AsRock B85M does have this. Is this just ASUS being Bad?

Its odd they never pushed 3503 onto that board, I had a Z97 Pro WIFI and they pushed a beta bios out for it to match spectre = https://www.asus.com/supportonly/z97pro(wifi_ac)usb_31/HelpDesk_BIOS/

I don't know why? I can only see people installing it after altering bios in some way. I can find unofficial bios that have changes but not sure I would trust them, and not going to link to them. Some Asus Z97 boards got updates in April 2018

Yes, I found that weird too. Even Z97-A got update, but not this one. Maybe I'll try to contact ASUS support and see what they think. TBH It would have been nice to have that BIOS, but I'll give up of they can't provide one. Thanks for reply!

You shouldn't have to worry too much, just update to latest official bios. Later mitigations were patched with Intel microcode updates through Windows update . Just run windows update and after all has been patched up, you can easily check in rather silly way. Benchmark CPU with cpu-z, when it completes, push submit and compare button. In results page that opens up, it will list vulnerabilities, if there are any left ( spectre, meltdown) . it will be listed in microcode line of results

I checked with InSpectreTool and to my suprise, I am protected from both, even though I have BIOS version 2203 from 2016. AFAIK windows update only takes care of the other and BIOS update takes other. Weird, but not complaining. Here is a screenshot:
