ASUS Z97-Pro WiFi AC Red CPU LED + "76" Q Code: PCH DXE Initialization (PCH module specific)

When I turn on the system, power runs to all devices but there is no video. The CPU light is red & the motherboard will not perform POST but it does have a 76 on the QCode which has the following description: "PCH DXE Initialization (PCH module specific)".

have you tried clearing the CMOS?

Update: one motherboard (Z87-DELUXE) fixed 76 code by resoldering VCore Controller
Second motherboard (MAXIMUS VII HERO) 76 code was from SMBus shorted to ground in one of small chips.
