I recently completely took apart my computer for cleaning and I also bought a new keyboard which is wired usb. I have a corsair spec 01 case. I disconnected the USB 2.0 front panel i/o connector and the USB 3.0 front panel connector (slide 6: https://www.manualscat.com/en/corsair-carbide-spec-01-manual).

They are now reconnected to USB 1314 and USB3_34 (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/Z97-PRO/E9062_Z97-PRO.pdf?_ga=2.116605830.1207780511.1522578731-677592380.1520088483) (page 1-4).

The problem is I got the message: "USB device over current detected will shut down in 15 seconds "on start up. It has only happened once and boots up normally usually. Is there anything I should do?

As the keyboard is brand new it might be that I guess but I think its more likely that its something to do with the cleaning. I reconnected the USB devices into ports that were never used before so it could be that.

I switched the connector on the motherboard (there are two USB 2.0 connectors). It seemed like it was firmly in place. There is no way to tell if that solved any issue yet because the problem only happened once. I will wait and see if the issue reoccurs. Thanks for your answer and taking the time to read my post.
