Hey guys, as my title says im perplexed as to why my new motherboard runs my CPU at almost 8 degrees higher than my previous 2 boards, exact same setup etc. Ive tried remounting my Hyper 212 3 times but the temps remain the same.

Asrock z97 - 28c - 32c idle
MSI Z97 - 28c - 32 idle
Asus z97 - 33-38 idle

I find this odd, i know its not massive temps but im using to seeing it at those lowers ranges.

I read somewhere about AI Suite forcing a higher Vcore rate or something which was causing that guy to get higher temps, an alleged preset overclock which he claims was factory set.

Any ideas guys?

Cheers

what you suggested with the higher Vcore rate was my first thought, it´s the only way the mainboard could realy effect the CPUs temps.
It should be an easy fix in the BIOS though check the settings in the OC tab in the BIOS and either turn them down manually, or deal with an overclocked and slightly hotter CPU -which isn´t bad btw
Some motherboards have slightly higher default bios specs, a tiny7 overclock if you will.
Don't know if asus does that for your particular motherboard.
I would not worry about it.

Why did you change motherboards?
What exactly were the models of the other 2?

Ok so i had a quick look and found that Asus had auto switched my CORES to synced, i want total factory default intel. No overclocks so i'll dig a little deeper. cheers guys, will keep you updated.

ahh the other boards were, Asrock z97 Extreme 4 - It started not turning on properly after a month and eventually never switched on again.
Then i got an MSI Z97 Gaming 5, that arrived with 2 dead memory slots (3&4) and the system clock kept going slow after 3 new batterys? that lasted a month, so i decided to go with Asus. Hopefully im ok, i built the comp in July.
