Maybe because it is virtually free of cost to ASUS. They will have to start lowering the price though as this doesn't seem to compete well versus the, incoming, Moto G 2015.

Well considering that Chinese phones are starting to emerge with price under 150$ with lot better spec (including FHD displays & octa cores S616 or MT675x) than this or Moto Moto G 3rd gen for that matter I don't see this like something worth of looking at. Naturally you won't find them in the US & they won't suport US baseband's until some large GSM operator take thing's in their hands like EE did in UK.
