What is the recommended or at least safe enough temps for an asus rog zep. g15 laptop? Both in game and desktop? Armoury Crate shows cpu/gpu fans both starts to spin at 60c. I also did setup hwinfo64 alarms for max 70c. Am I good to go? Thanks

Whatever the T-Junction temperature max is of the components. Usually 90C and up to around 105C.

Without an exact model, hard to say. Zephyrus G15 isn't a one off.

I also like to say NVMe ASIC controller gets quite hot more than any other hardware as hwinfo reports, should I be concerned? desktop idle as I write this on firefox browser the controller temp is 68c, now it is 66c

No, that actually isn't specific enough for the exact hardware. But does get the generation and potential components.

So A Ryzen 9 and a 30 series GPU of some sort.

Zen 3 TJ Max is 90C.
Ampere GPUs have a TJ Max of 95C, but are generally configured for a throttle point of 83C.
Typical memory TJ Max for Ampere is 105C, but can also be 95C, depends who made the memory and if it is GDDR6 or GDDR6x

Couldn't tell you what SSD is in there, but the controller on the NVMe should be kept as cool as possible. The drive will self throttle, so there isn't much concern there. The flash memory operates best when it is slightly warm.

It is an WD SSD 512GB, can't even find a ssd manager for it in this brand. How do I keep the controller cool? Should I disable real GPU via device manager so laptop inside can take a fresh air and use only radeon graphics? Controller and the GPU close to each other? Ryzen 7 and a NVIDIA gpu in 3000 series. Armoury Crate does not let me disable nvidia gpu because "some programs in use" impossible loop.

Hey! I have completely forgot this thread even existed, it seems I keep creating threads and forgot about them. I will bookmark it for the next one.

Thanks for letting me know that there isnt anything to worry about that SSD and its nvme asic controller. So I discovered recently that there is indeed a software for this brand NVMe SSD. Somekind WD tool, similiar to samsung magician. I watch it from there from now on instead of hwinfo64, OEM software clearly will be more accurate and valid I hope.

I previously worried because I was planning to use this laptop for gaming and video editing, seeing that 65c-70c on the SSD controller/SSD itself lead me to think its lifespan in long term, which is why I asked it.

Just to be sure though, is it both same hardware? The SSD itself and the ASIC controller? Both will throttle right? To reduce its heat?
Thanks again
