AT&T U-Verse Internet

We ordered an AT&T Internet TV bundle with 18mbit/s Internet speed.

We told the sales rep that we had 50mbit/s with Comcast and he said their 18mbit/s matches comcast's 50mbit/s because they use fiber cable.

This struck me as being complete bs because I am not completely tech-tarded. All internet speeds should be measured the same way it should not depend on the type of cable used.

Please respond I am completely confused on what we should do, and because we will be paying $100+ per month I am concerned whether or not I should call AT&T about this, they will be installing the Internet soon.

Call and cancel the install. You are right in that 18mb/s is nearly 3 times slower than comcasts 50; fiber or not

no, talk to the rep now. once installed and your stuck with that 1 or 2 yr agreement they wont be nearly as helpful or willing to upgrade you unless its for more $$$
