ata/100 ?

I have a Asus A7V133 mobo, 1.2 T-bird and IBM 30gig ata/100 hd. For some reason the mother board doesnt recognize the hard drive when connected to the ata/100 slot, the only way I can get it to recognize it is when I put it on the ata/66 slot. Any body know whats going on here?

do you have enabled promise controller in bios ?
there is no one ata-100 controller, but two.
The one near floppy controller is a standard ata-100 , and the other is a promise raid0 ata100 controller.
You can attach your HD to either one of the two, but if you attach it to the promise one, you must enable it in bios, and install his software drivers.
If you do not use raid0 feature, i suggest you to use only standard ata100 controller.
