ATA/ SATA to usb make the pc shut down

when i connect PATA harddisk to my computer via ATA to USB converter the PC shut down despite that converter works very god on the laptop so what's the problem ?

it's PATA hard disk and i use ATA to USB converter to play it on the pc
The Adapter of converter is 5 V / 2.5 A
My motherboard is gigabyte p 61
