ATA100 HDD not detected ?

I currently have an IBM ATA100 45GB HDD installed on the ATA100 primary connectors on the Asus A7V M/B. I formatted this HDD and attempt to install Win2000 on it, but it says no HDD was found. However, with the Win98 Startup Disk, I can get access to my C: Drive.

I looked in the BIOS, there is no Primary IDE HDD at all. Is it because the HDD is connected to some Promise ATA100 Controller instead of the M/B ? If so, how can I use the ATA100 connectors so Windows can be run on it ?
