ATAPI EVENT 11 ERRORS and the additional blue screen

Building a computer for a friend and we finally got all of the parts. Yesterday we spent about 8 hours trying to download new bios updates, all of the windows updates etc... We went into the event log and we found we had 12 Critical Kernal errors (which we have identified as the blue screens), and had about 11000 atapi errors. We believe this is all because of the ssd, so we tried downloading firmware which we later found was not available. We also went into the BIOS and changed the ssd to AHCI instead of IDE and we did take all of the necessary precautions needed in going into the registry.

This morning we tried plugging the ssd back in but, no matter what ssd slot we did plug it into we got the "press ctrl alt del to restart the computer" and a black backround.

We tried to return the ssd but, unfortunately newegg isnt accepting any returns for this ssd, only an exchange.

Any suggestions?
Edit:New motherboard, new hardrive. Looking good so far. The Mushkin SSD is definitely going.

The ATAPI EVENT 11 is most likely caused by a bad sata cable or a bad sata driver. Try a different cable and a different port.

If switching the sata cable works... I may just have to burn this other one.

Edit: Did not work, do we replaced the motherboard and the hardrive.

Turns out that it was a bad ssd
Got a 1 TB Seagate from bestbuy today and his computer is working beautifully.
