Dear Customer,
1. We will notify our web masters to look into the product specifications
and make the necessary corrections shortly.
2. To the best of our knowledge, only the 3700+ AMD processors that we
have in stock come with the 1MB L2 cache.
3. Yes, AMD has stopped production on the Clawhammer series processors and
have instead released the 512KB L2 cache version with some minor
advancements in the circuitry.
4. Unfortunately, we are sold out of the 1MB L2 cache version and will no
longer recieve any future shipments.
Sincerely,
ZipZoomFly

I asked a simular question to new egg and got the following response:
Dear Customer,
Generally, our stock moves so fast that we have the latest version or revision
of everything. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to physically get our hands
on our most current stock and tell you what revision we have at the moment.
Besides coming from multiple warehouse locations, our inventory is simply too
large and moves too fast to tag a particular item for a particular order. We
ship what we have, when we have it, at our discretion. We do not guarantee
revision numbers or stepping unless otherwise indicated in the product listing.
As for the Farcry game the list was generated for the promotion through our
mareting department and we are unable to justify it in anyway. If the items
thatyou want to buy are not listed on the promotion then I cannot guarantee the
free Farcry game. Thanks again for shopping at Newegg, It was truly a pleasure
serving you and we hope for the opportunity to do business with you again in the
near future. If you'd like to read or post a testimonial about our services,

Dear sirs:
I may be upgrading my "ancient" 700 duron system to a new athlon 64 system
soon. Indeed I have already purchased about $600 of components from new egg.
Naturally, I want to make sure I get the best deal possible from a reputable
company. I am intrigued by the a64cpu/a64mobo/farcry game offer. The most
expensive processor I am interested in entertaining the idea of buying is the
athlon 64 3200+. It has come to my attention that this processor comes in two
cores:
athlon 64 3200+ 2000mhz fsb 1024kb l2 cache (clawhammer core) and
athlon 64 3200+ 2200mhz fsb 512kb l2 cache (newcastle core)
I assume the newcastle core is newer and that as amd advances the newer 939
platform with the 512 kb l2 chips they are also decreasing cost by shifting the
3200+ to the 512 cache as well.
It has come to my attention that the clawhammer with 1024 cache and lower clock
speed is of greater value when overclocking. Thus this is the core I want. I
have inquired as to zipzoomfly's far cry offering. They tell me they are only
stocking the 512 cache version. New egg is also doing the far cry offer and
appears to still be stocking the 1024 mb version but does not offer the mother
board I was most interested in (msi k8n neo platinum with nforce 3-250gb
chipset) Mwave has a simular offer and also appears to be a reputable company,
however it is unclear as to which version of the 3200+ they are selling as well.
I am also making inquirys to them.
Questions:
1. Do you offer the 3200+ with the 1024kb l2 cache clawhammer core?
If you have both in stock how can I be assured of getting the one with the 1024
l2 cache version? The information with the cpu seems to indicate you do in fact
offer the 1024 l2 cache version.
2. Why isn't the msi k8n neo platinum included in the far cry game/cpu/mobo
offer? I want the 1024mb l2 cache 3200+ chip and the msi k8n neo plat board (as
well as the free far cry game). It seems like I am having a challenge getting
exactly what I want. Will that msi board be included in the offer? Is there a
way that board could be included in the offer? Perhaps even it if is just an "a
la carte" order it could be done?
