Hi, I got a AMD Athlon 64 3400 1024Kc FSB8400
and I order a Asus MB A8V Deluxe but someone told me that those 2 are not compatible. I want dual channel on my Athlon 64 and I thought this mb could do it. Can you suggest me something that would work, staying with my 3400+
thx a lot

No. There are currently no socket 754 MB's with dual channel. If you wanted dual channel you should have bought a 3500+ socket 939 CPU. Get a nice NF3-250 chipset board to go with your socket 754 CPU and you will be fast enough to not miss dual-channel that much.

Abit IS7 - 2.8C @ 3.4ghz - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - Yellowtail Merlot

You can't do dual channel with socket 754. You have to make a decision. If you want to stay with the 3400+ then you will not be able to utilize dual channel ram, but I can tell you right now you will still be thuroughly impressed with the performance of that CPU. You will have to return that motherboard however, because its socket 939 and your CPU is socket 754. If you do want dual channel then you will have to get a 3500+ (which doesn't benchmark as well as the 3400+) and then you can keep the motherboard you have. I strongly suggest the motherboard I have listed in my signature if you stay with 754. It is the most suggested mobo for socked 754, I think most on this forum would recommend it.

Hope this helped, sorry your pretty much in a lose/lose situation. Your gonna have to decide between a slight memory performance increase or saving money.
