Athlon 64 vs. Athlon 64 x2

I'm curious as to how much faster the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester 2600ghz VS. the AMD Athlong 64 3700+ San Diego 2400ghz, taking overclocking into consideration as well.

okay um.. .first of all the numbers are in mhz... if its like 2200 ghz, it'll be like... uber super computer in 2100. okay. other than that, the 4200+ is 2.2 ghz, and so is the 3700. in terms of regular single thread performance, not that much difference. the 4200+ will perform better during multi thread programs. in terms of overclocking, the 3700 sandiego will have a huge advantage over the 4200+

The extra cache on the san diego core would give 5 to 7% more perf on average, for sinle threaded progs.

Sorry about the ghz i meant 2400mhz and 2600mhz. Thanks for the heads up and the info about both.

AFAIK they bothe run @ 2.2ghz, or 2200mhz.
Only the FX57 runs @ 2.6ghz
