I have an old PC that I want to revive for use in a bedroom streaming films from another machine and occasional web browsing. I cannot bear a system that has mismatched ram, and in this case this has 4 mismatched modules. I've got 4 x GeIL DDR2-800 1GB modules with latency timings 4-4-4-12, which I would like to install.

The query I've got is whether I'm going to have any issues with it being 2.1 volts and not the normal DDR2 1.8 volts? This machine is NOT going to be overclocked, nor will it be pushed to its limits.

Is it possible that any long term damage will occur? The mainboard is an MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital, with the title CPU and aforementioned RAM.

Thanks in advance

Hello

The RAM you are using is rated to run at 2V so they should be fine. The motherboard should also be able to support this, but if it is the rated Voltage level of the RAM and you are not going to overclock it, it should be fine. I would check if the motherboard supports those timings tho. Here is a link to a similar problem: http://www.overclock.net/t/1010707/ddr2-ram-max-voltage-limits-for-non-heatsinked-ram

Hope this helps :)
