Athlon 880k with gtx 1060 3gb msi BOTTLENECK ??

I have brought a gtx 1060 3gb gpu with my current amd a8 7650k clocked at 3.60ghz I want to upgrade to athlon 880k to reduce the bottle neck and to be able to play fortnite at 120fps locked and recommendations for a fm2 or fm2+ cpu due to me having a GA-F2A78M-HD2 by gigabyte
Any advice will be greatly appreciated as to what to buy cpu wise.

Yes, the 880K will bottleneck the 1060 3GB by about 25-30% depending on the game, settings, etc. I'm afraid there is no FM2/FM2+ CPU that won't bottleneck the 1060. On the bright side, the games fps should improve. Are you currently using the A8-7650K's iGPU?

Yes i am i cant even hit 100fps+ on any game

Dont waste your money. The money would be better spent moving to Ryzen or Intel platform. The FM2 platform isnt good for gaming.

Well yeah i might just save and use my rx 560 for now and get a ryzen motherboard that wont bottleneck it.

You should still get better performance with the 1060, even with the bottleneck.

You’ll get better performance with the 1060, don’t bother upgrading the CPU you’re better off saving up and buying into a newer platform

You mentioned later to RobCrezz that you have a RX 560. Why are you using the A8-7650K's iGPU then? The RX 560 will give you vastly better performance than the iGPU and not be bottlenecked, plus you already have it.

Btw, near 100 fps is not shabby. Especially if you game on a 60Hz monitor that will never show 100 frames per second.
