Question Athlon II X3 450 or Phenom II X4 955

Hello! I currently have a Athlon II X3 450 clocked at 3.2GHz. What I was wondering is, should I put a Phenom II X4 955 and underclock it to 2.6GHz so it takes max 95w, because I have a 95w board and the Phenom II X4 955 that I bought is 125w. One dude did it and he says his pc is running just fine:

So, is it okay to do that and put the new cpu in or do I just leave the Athlon X3 450 there? Is it a upgrade to have 4 cores at 2.6GHz or 3 cores at 3.2GHz?

I think the 4 core at 2.6 GHz will perform better than the 3 core at 3.2 GHz.

....and if the Phenom is running at roughly 80% clockspeed (which is what you intend to do)....I think it still will beat the Athlon.

Do you already have the Ph II X4 955? Because there are 95W versions of that processor too.
Which 95W motherboard do you actually have? How good is the condition?
