Athlon II X3 or phenom II x2/x3

Which processor performs well in gaming?Athlon X3 435 or Phenom X2/X3?I am building a machine for gaming like GTA 4,COD4,Bad company etc.
I have already purchased an used HD4850.i am on budget so please tell if that 6mb L3 cache worths that much extra bucks for gaming?

The Phenom II x3 720 will be better for gaming with its 6MB of L3 cache. Also the Phenom II 720 also has the chance of unlocking the 4th core giving you even a better gaming experience.
