Athlon temps

I have an athlon 1.4 with 266fsb. I have 6 90mm fans running in my case, with a 9000 rpm delta on top of my vantech copper heatsink. I cant get the temp below 46 degrees celcius. What my question is, What is the normal temperature range for this chip? Ive heard it runs on the hot side, but is this normal? And what is a safe overclock for this chip? I have had it running at almost 1700mhz but its more comfertable at around 1533 mhz. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

is that temp your overclocked temp ? also what voltage you rnning at? the temp isnt terrible, but is that under load or idle?

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?

What board are you using? My XP1500+ overclocked to 1700MHz is running at 41C idle and 45C load. Your temps are fine at the moment. Also, keep in mind that the temp in the room with your computer is a factor to consider. Hot rooms make for hot CPU's. My room temp is a comfortable 16C. My Core voltage is at 1.75v. Using an Asus A7V266-E with BIOS 1007 final.

Post back with your system specs and we will try to help you in making your system a little better/quieter. That 9000RPM Delta should be changed to a better HSF like a Volcano7 or 7+.

Believe only half of what you read and none of what you hear! Unless it's in THGC forum.

Okay sorry I should have been more specific. I have an Asus a7v266-a, with original bios (version 1.004, I think). The temp at 46 is at system idle, after playing counter strike or something requiring cpu time it jump to about 50. I did use artic silver. When i overclocked it ran at about 51. I used the the stock voltage of 1.75, but just turned up the multiplier. What is the best way to do it. Any help would be greatly apperciated. O one more question, whats worng with my delta 9000rpm fan? It moves almost 60 cfm of air?

Huh? What?? I can't hear you!! My V7 is keeping my CPU nice and cool at 3200RPM's. It has a 80mm fan on it. I forget how many CFM's it moves, but it seems to be enough and I can leave my system on and sleep at night.

Okay im only using a 300 watt power supply. I realize I have it maxed. The fans stays at a constant 8800 rpms. Anyway I switched around a couple fans and now its running at about 43 degrees celcius. Thanks for all the help.

Yes, the delta is crazy loud. I should have realized when I bought it, but oh well. Next time I won't make the same mistake. Thanks
