Athlon X4 750k paired with a R9 280/280x?

Alot of opinions from other forums are varying saying there should be no problem at all and even recommend a 780 would be fine with no CPU/GPU throttling. While others say its a bad idea and should not buy a card higher than a 760.
What would be the results in pairing a 280/x with a stock 750k? and what do you recommend?

There WILL be a bottleneck even overclocked.

If you are on a really tight budget, I'd get a FX 6350 instead to prevent bottleneck. But the best would be at least a intel core i5 4430.

Depends on the game , depends on your screen resolution .

You may see no difference in a game like BF4 or Crysis 3 at 1080p resolution , and a lot in Skyrim

this cpu bottlenecks my 7870xt , can't get 60fps on bf3 no matter what the settings are , will be switching to intel soon.
would not recommend getting anything above r9 265 with this processor.
