Depends on game, anywhere from not much to a lot. Just get the card and upgrade to some other platform when you have the money, it will certainly improve your experience if you're on an older card.

It shouldn't bottleneck to much. Given the great price of only $169 for the 470 its will also make a great step part later on for a new build.
