Athlon X4 860k or Pentium G4560 ?

My friend wanted to trade his intel combo for my amd combo:
His CPU: G4560 Mobo: Asus B150M-A-D3
Mine: Athlon X4 860k Mobo: Gigabyte F2A88XM-HD3
he asks for another 50$... is it worth the trade

Please help me...

Yes but maybe not 50 bucks worth. Which MB do you have ? It maybe better to upgrade processor on it. For render, definitely 4 cores are better.

I said on the post already...but also i use ddr3 ram...would that be a problem ? His mb does support ddr3 though

Here's compatibility list for that MB: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/B150M-A_D3.html RAM for it is DDR3L so it works on lower voltage.

As of today's review on Tom's Hardware: yes, you DO want to do this swap! The G4560 *smokes* the 860K.

Edit: honestly, if you can, it might be better to save and buy a new G4560 and pair it with DDR4. If you can't do that, then go with this for a fairly significant boost.

It is worth it if he includees his DDR4 so you dont have to buy that too. I have Athlon 760k, and in some games im really suffering because of poor single core performance, g4560 is much better in every game than athlon. I too will uppgrade to g4560

edit: i just red you will have to use ddr3, dunno, didnt watch many tests on youtube how skylake/kabylake performs on ddr3 vs ddr4, look it up.

If i were you, i wouldnt go with that ddr3 mbo, i would sell my amd setup and buy MSI h110 ddr4, and later in future would put i5 7400 in it
