Hello,

Will an Athlon XP 2400+ run OK on a Matsonic MS8308EP motherboard (I think it is based on PC Chips M810 series)?

The Matsonic MS8308EP is revision 3.1.

Has anyone done this or had any experience of this?

Many thanks.

as far as i know, matsonic mobos for socket A are CRAP. a friend of mine had a matsonic mobo with athlon xp 1700+, and had such a bad experience, since that is using only intel. the windows froze every 10-15 minutes, even while ideling, once had lost a ton of data when the computer froze while defragmenting. he was unable to copy and listen to music, or do a cd writing and watch a movie.
so, be careful with matsonic. bios updates weren't good for anything.

cheers

Erm, Intel don't make Motherboards for AMD CPUs. Period.

Stay away from Matsonic. It's crap.
I have one and it's a pain in the ...
It's unstable and cheap capacitors makes the problem worse the older it gets.

I didn't pay anything for the Matsonic I have and wanted to max it for now and get new mobo at later time.

I use it for light work- surfing, office stuff. Although even surfing nowadays can be a stretch.
