I own a Compaq Armada M300 with an ATI 3D Rage LT Pro which has 4Mb memory.
My friend has an M700 with an ATI RAGE Mobility which has 8Mb memory but it
also has a TV Out port.

He may be soon getting it upgraded and he said I could have the RAM and DVD
ROM from it. I asked him about the graphics card and he said he didn't know
i it would work as he doesn't know if the card can be used without the TV
Out port being connected.

Does anyone know if the cable that connects the card to the port can be
disconnected?

Many thanks in advance,

Karl.

If you're talking about pulling out a graphic card from one laptop and
install it in other, then it is VERY unlikely to work. Reason? Most if not
all laptops have integrated chips, ie soldered onto the motherboard. So you
might not be able to move it.
As for tv-out, i don't think there is any cable. It's embedded connection on
PCB, thus no cables.
