Hi there!
I have an ati 4890 gpu..... brand new.... my question is the following
when i ran for the first time dxdiag ( xp pro 32 bit ) i noted that instead of saying ati 4890 it said, ati 4800 series......
in the first place i had no problem because the ati 4890 is , in fact, a 4800 series gpu...
but when i entered ati website to download the latest video drivers it said " 4800 series drivers " and "4890 series drivers" i didnt know what to do...
i downloaded the 4800 drivers, and it is all ok,, but that kept me thinking if i had really an ati 4890...
then i played counter strike source ( the only game i tested so far ) and fps didnt go over 250..... i believed that with this card fps would be like 500 or 400.....
so i wanted to know if it is all right that everest and dx diag display that i have a 4800 series instead of a 4890 series....
the card i bought is this one :
http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=130&cat2_no=137&prod_no=1786
i also wanted to know if the fps rendered are ok, and if i should donwload the 4890 series driver instead of the 4800
thx in advantage!
