ATi 9700proAIW

i need to know if an ati 9700 pro AIW will work in my non intel chip based mother board. my boards chip set is made by ALi and the model number is m5229 and i believe it has agp 2x/4x compatibility. I read in the online manual that i would have to download drivers to make my agp slot compatible with the card. but i am unable to find said drivers. i have only ever owned a geforce 2 ultra. i am not experienced at all with ati. so my question is... will my mother board accept a 9700 pro AIW(btw i believe my mainboard is a k7). (i have win xp... does this have those drivers built into it?)

Yeah it will work as long as your motherboard is 2x/4x. I don't know where you got that it wouldn't work in a non intel motherboard. Just make sure you unistall your old geforce drivers completely before installing the 9700.

btw i mean 9-10 of the manual... or the beggining of chpter 2 i think it is on pg 15- 16 if you are looking at the pages including the premanual documentation

[-peep-] i gave the wrong number the model number is M1535d... so can any body now tell me if this board will take a 9700 pro AIW?

I have a board that uses ALI's M1535d+ as part of the chipset. My ATI AiW 7200 works fine. the big thing is two fold. One goto your MB's mfg website and look under support for anything about the ATI cards and thier MB. 2 download the latest driver from www.ali.com.tw and in thier support section, find the download driver section and get the integrated driver and have it installed before you switch the video cards. If you built you're own machine and know what you were doing, I imagine you would have this already installed. Hope this helps
