Is there a known issue with radeons and opengl powered games? I have seen some texture banding in oGL I am not sure if it was poor coding by game devs or not. But I have seen visible skyboxes on numerous openGL games. My r9600 performs well framerate wise in ogl but the sky looking like a big cube with clouds painted on the inside is kind of weird. The direct 3d performance is top notch though, so i was just wondering if my config is bad? 3.7 cat dx9 and the latest hyperion drivers for my via chipset.

Go to your ATI Control Panel, set the mipmap and Texture to High Quality
And what game are you talking about? maybe it's those games are desgined that way? is it first time happen to you? or you didn't have this problem before?

Also, set your color-depth to 32-bit inside the game if it isn't already. Infact, set textures to 32-bit also.

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

I have mipmap and texture quality set at high and 32 bit textures in game. I never saw a skybox before installing the r9600 it always looked like a regular sky, ongoing and realistic. Now it looks like the ground is inside a huge box. I get this in tribes 2 and quakeIII. The sky textures are present but look like they are painted on the inside of a box, pretty ugly. Tribes 2 will run in d3d but its slower, it does look much better though, the sky is normal and the textures seem a lot sharper. I have all the latest drivers for my mobo and card and have set up my bios from instructions that were emailed to me by ati. It made no difference. I really am just wondering if its my card or if everyone has this problem with openGL games. Or maybe my via chipset doesnt get along with radeons?
