I have two ATI Radeon HD 6850's that I bought October 2011. Recently, one of my cards has been making a horrible noise that doesn't go away even after the computer has been on for a while.
I opened my case to take a look and one of the fans is clearly spinning slower than the other one.

I took it out and it doesn't seem to be any issue with dust. The fan seems to be able to spin; it doesn't seem like it's physically broken.
I went to the Catalyst control center and noticed that crossfire was disabled. I tried to enable it, but after it saved, it was disabled again.
I just don't know if my card is dead or dying, and if I should go ahead and deal with the warranty process.
