ATI Radeon HD 5450

Hi There

I have recently spent quite a bit of $$$ on a decent PC, orginally I only intended to play Football Manager, so I never bothered to get a GPU just used the onboard graphics.
I'm now interested a few of the top games, (Crysis 3, Fifa 13,GTA 4 Icehancer mod etc)

Currently I cant afford £150+ for a top of the range card (Intend to get the 7970 at some point)
So I picked up the 5450 HD for £30 to tide me over, I figured it must be quicker than the on-board graphics

My PC Spec is

Processor = AMD FX 8350
Ram = 8 Gb DDR3
HD = 500gb sata
GPU = ATI Radoen HD 5450
Power Supply = 750w

Can someone give me an idea of how some of the newer games will run on my system.
I used "Can you Run it" it says pass for the min spec but I would still like to have an idea on what sort of Frame rates to expect and graphics settings I could use etc.

Well that is a lower end card, I got 25-30 FPS on Starcraft 2 on high settings with that card. So you can see where it goes from there, Crysis 3 would only be able to run on low most likely with around 30 fps. Like I said, its a lower end card.

Bit optimistic on Crysis 3. Even at 720p and low settings you're looking at average of 20fps on a card significantly faster than your's:

I felt sorry for your processor and the PSU... HD 5450 is too weak to pair with them. Crysis 3 is super GPU demanding, so u won't get good result (means there will be lagging and may drive u crazy) on 5450, so as BF3. GTA 4 would be so-so 'cause it's more CPU-demanding but still could only run in low settings.

Wait until u have some money. Don't spoil the money on such a trash card. It performs slightly better than your onboard GPU (Probably HD 3200/4200) and it is outperformed now by intel HD 4000 and AMD 6530D.

the 5450 was a waste of money, its about the same as my onboard, ive also got a X1650 lying around which is old but similar to 5450.

What is the cheapest ATI card that can max out most games, I can soend about £150 tops when I get paid

HD7850. Why does it have to be Radeon? You could get a GTX660 for £150 (even slightly under) and it's faster.

I have a 5450 and used it on a 720p 32" TV. played COD2 and lesser games okay. WAY, WAY better than any on board graphics prior to the APU's.

don't expect miracles and plan on lowering settings and resolution on anything newer.

That card is going to struggle to even launch most next gen games. At current tiers it should run low.
