Which of these 2 cards do you think i could get the best performance out of? The 5770 is already factory OC but I can knock that up way higher. The 5830 I can also jump to get higher clock speeds. So which is better for games on a lower resolution, 1440 x 900 or 1280 x 1050 maybe a little higher :na:. The 5770 is cheaper by like $30 but I can deal with it, as long as the 5830 is worth it. NOTE: I will be be getting second card once I know I'm satisfied with the winning card. Also, which card is better for crossfire? Thank You and thanks for reading my question! :hello:

At that low of resolution I highly recommend going with the 5770. It's cheaper, MUCH smaller, much more power efficient, less heat, and will be able to handle anything you throw at it.

Plus its great in crossfire!!!!! In crossfire two 5770's have been known to rival a 5850 and sometimes even a 5870!

Here are my specs:
Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.8GHz or 4.0GHz
Asus M4A89GTD PRO/UB3
750w psu
Windows 7
Etc...

In most situations the HD5830 puts a great deal of distance between itself and the HD5770 even at low res.

However, the other thing is to note that since the HD5830 crippling is not fused off it still draws power, and therefore is a very power-hungry and can be a hot card for the performance level. It's about and extra 80% more power draw for 10-20% more performance although the heat is not terrible and in about the same region as the HD5770.

The 5830's are more interesting at 199.99 after rebate. I wonder if they will go even lower ? I wonder what the max o/c without Vc adjustment is from these things, they are factory clocked rather high ? Any 5830 owners ? comment.
