If you want to be on the safe side, you can grab the HD7770, which uses considerably less power and offers about the same performance.

Radeon7770 is a good option, but the Radeon6850 is better if you are going to use AA and run at higher screen resolutions like 1920x1080

I think it would run fine, you have a total of 26a on the 12V rail. The 6850 uses 10a at most and your processor and whatever else will use the rest.

Isn't Radeon HD 6750 a better option than Radeon 7770?? I am buying a graphic card for the first time and want to buy one which can support gaming on ultra high or high setting and can give me a good gaming experience.

The 6750 is slower than either the 7770 or the 6850. I'd say the 7770 and 6850 trade blows in terms of performance. Either will play alot of games on high.

The eXtreme Power Plus is not the best of quality, but it should run the 6850 alright and the 7770 without flaw.

I'd say go for the 7770 to stay on the safe side.

I went through the specifications of both and i found Radeon 6850 better as its 2GB DDR5 with 960 Stream Processor whereas Radeon 7770 has 1Gb and 640 Stream Processor.

What matters more in a good graphic card??
Is it GPU Clock or Processors and Cores?

Well the 7770 is also clocked higher than the 6850.

The clock at which the processors run at and how many there are is how they match up. But even then the architecture of the cores are different, so the only way to see how they really match up is in a benchmark.

Ok...So if i go for Radeon 7770 would it play games like NFS Run or GTA Liberty City Stories on Ultra High. I am running it on Samsung 40" LED.

Well, I have GTAIV and a Radeon 6950, which is much better than the 7770 or the 6850 and I can barely run it on the highest it goes on 1776x1000 resolution.

And if that TV is 1080p, both of those cards will probably not be able to pull GTAIV on the highes it goes. The game was poorly coded for the PC and barely runs well on the best of PC's.

That being said, any NFS games should run.

I have the Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 460 and going to install a Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 graphics card. The AMD website recommended "500W or greater" but did not give any details about 12V rail amperes. How do I know what my power supply's 12V ampere? Does it matter if it is single rail or double rail? I don't understand that term either.

My system is Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 @2.5GHz and P43 chipset motherboard. So has anyone tried using this power supply on HD 6850?
