ATI Radeon x1300 replacement in a COMPAQ SR1730Z, AMD Athlon 64 3800+, 380w PSU, 2005.

Would like to replace with new x1300 but pictures of the available ones don't quiet look like the old one. Was wondering if there might be a compatibility issue concerning and obviously improved x1300 with my old Compaq.

Seriously, get the HD6570 I suggested for essentially the same price. It is a much better choice between the 2 of them.

You can go with the x1300 if you choose, but I can't imagine any compatibility issues you might have with the HD6570.

What operating system are you using?

For the record, the HD46XX/HD55Xx/HD56Xx/HD65XX/HD66XX should be backward compatible with a PCI Express V1 slot. I have used successfully in the past.

i have that power supply. but mine was noisy so i took the fan from the 12v line and put in the 5v line and it works better lol. i use it for testing other computers.

but anyway, thats weird that other cards dont work.

well i found this. i dont know how much it will cost with shipping in your area.

[edit] here is this one also, it has a fan on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATI-Radeon-X1300PRO-Series-PCIE-256MB-Video-Graphics-Card-102A6761810-/121160873013?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item1c35c03435

Thanx for the input, guys. Going to order a new x1300. If it doesn't work, then it'll be one more reason to break down and buy a new set up.

Repairing, researching and replacing parts in this old computer has given me the confidence to assemble my own.

If I might incorporate the HD6670 vid card, what Motherboard might I need? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
