Ati Radeon x1800 XL what graphics card equals this

I have an Allienware computer with the above graphics card installed ,I want to replace it with a Geforce GTX which one do you recommend, also can you tell me what this card is equal to now. Thank-You jez21258@hotmail.com

the X1800 XL is about a 8 year old video card. As long as you get a AIT 77XX or a R Series or a Nvidia 550,650,750 or higher you will get very good performance. Only thing is 1) If your PC meets the power requirements and 2) if you case will fit it. what alienware do you have?

I bought it in 2006 I think it was an Aurror 51, I have a 650watt power supply, I had the motherboard replaced,,both dvd drives, mem ram now is 8 gb 64 bit OS windows 7 home premium processor AMD A8 5600k , right now it has a ATI Radeon X 1800 XL sound card that I will be replacing also.

Oh so its not even the orginal PC at all XD well if you have a 650 watt with the PCIe Power Connectors then the only thing holding you back is the question of "Will it fit" Just got to take some measurements. Should fit just about any card though.

Your A8 already has built in graphics card which is already more powerful than x1800.So remove that card and games will then run off the graphics in your A8.
