Hi

Question first: which card should I buy? A Radeon All-In-Wonder or a Radeon 7500 ("regular")?

As a non-gamer who primarily values 2-D sharpness and correct color reproduction combined with a decent TV-out, I decided to buy one of the above-mentioned cards. The All-In-Wonder has a lot of nice features, including the TV-tuner, but the performance specs speak for the R-7500. So I wonder if the features of the R-A-I-W come too much at the expense of poorer performance in the "basics". Does anyone have an idea as to whether the R-7500 will, in practice, deliver better performance than the R-A-I-W? Among other things I use my PC for webdesign and GUI-based multimedia production, divx and DVD play-back. The PC is hooked to a Sony Trinitron monitor and a Philips TV (composite).

In Denmark, where I live, the bulk-version of the R-A-I-W is priced in the same range as the retail-version of the R-7500.

Regards
Michael

No, I don't play 3D-games.
Yes, I can find the Radeon 7500 A-I-W here. But the price is considerably higher - the difference is about 135$. (The pricing of ATI and ATI-based cards is really a mystery, I think...).

It depends on what your doing ...

the All In Wonder cards are for multimedia and video editing, video capturing and stuff like that. If you are majoring in film this card is a must or something similar.

I have the all in wonder radeon 32MB. It is slow. I get 3874 in 3d mark 2001 SE 330 ... the 7500 i think gets 4700 or so. Why not get the All in wonder radeon 8500 128MB? it's only 260 now! it's at www.mwave.com and www.newegg.com. the all in wonder radeon 8500DV is only 160 which would be faster then both the all in wonder radeon and ther adeon 7500.

or you can wait for the all in wonder radeon 9700 pro! :) which should be coming out in 2 motnhs in my opinion. Probably sooner since ATI has jumped the reelase date of the radeon 9700 pro to august 19th!

you have to think ... the all in wonder is not a video card for gamers. It's a multimedia card. It has everything you could need and the software bundle for video editing, video captureing, and video encoding. The AIW series of cards is suppose to be more expensive because it has a lot more parts and a lot more functionality.

He's in Denmark, so mwave and newegg don't really work  .

I agree with Skater... if you don't really game too much, and you want the extra features the AIW gives, then go for it. Another thing you can consider, say you don't need the TV-Tuner, but want the video capture, you could always get a R7500 and a capture card. They shouldn't be too much. Also, you should be able to get separate TV-Tuner cards too.
