Hello, I have a radeon x1900 gt from connect 3d. I am running it in my core 2 duo system which is inside an armor case. I am worried it is overheating.

I just downloaded the new Folding at home client and the temperatures are spiking up to 80deg C.

Does anyone know the thermal threshold for these cards? 80 seems VERY hot to me... I wouldn't think it should be more than 60. If anyone can tell me the suggested operating paramters for these cards I would be much appreciative.

Thank you for your time.

You need to adjust the fan speed. My did almost same thing. Have the fan speed at 50% (give or take) when not in any 3D application.

80C isn't really dangerous, unless you're idling at 80C.

The problem is... When I run folding at home... It pegs it at 80c for as long as its running... and if I plan to leave it running while I am away at work as well as overnight... It could become a large problem. I ordered an Accelero x2 and will install that to fix the problem. Cheers and thanks for the response. =)
