atikmdag.sys blue screen error

I have a dell inspiron 15r 5537 laptop it has amd radeon hd 8850m graphic card...
i had installed Catalyst Version 13.11 before...now i installed Catalyst control center 14.4 which was there on amd website... after installing Catalyst control center 14.4 on my laptop when i try to shutdown my laptop it wont turn off completely i had to force shutdown the laptop... then i checked the my dell software there it had given some error like "unknown crash error from atikmdag.sys error unable to shutdown... i tried uninstalling and re installing the Catalyst control center 14.4 but the same issue... so i re installed the previous version it is normal now how to solve this problem...
could someone help me......

Do a clean uninstall...Remove the old driver..Biit into safe mode and run driver sweeper and then boot into normal mode and install the recent one...
