So a couple of days ago I was playing Skyrim Special Edition, and something out of the ordinary happened. After killing Alduin (the main antagonist) I ported back to Skyrim on the Throat of the World and tried saving when it was day time. Instant crash. So I go to my event viewer and I noticed that CCC.exe (Catalyst Control Center) was having some errors. I tried a couple more things with Skyrim but it just wouldn't stop crashing (only when I save or wait during the daytime though). This was especially frustrating because I was a good 2/3 of the way through my playthrough and wanted to get all of the achievements on steam. Since I saw the CCC errors, I decided to update my drivers for the control center. (I ran an older version of Catalyst Control Center because I was able to underclock my CPU speed due to constant crashing if I have it at 100% speed). After updating, it still didn't work so I started messing with the drivers and lone behold, I fuck it up. By the time I realized I had just fucked it up more, the damage had already been done. All day yesterday my PC wouldn't go 5 or 10 minutes without getting a BSOD. It mentioned that the cause of the BSOD was the atikmdag.sys driver. I looked through some forums and saw that if you reinstalled your drivers, copied the atikmdag.sy_ file onto your desktop and ran a command via cmd, it would fix it after replacing it. Tried this and it didn't really work.

Previously it was getting an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD, however it later changed to just a corrupted driver. To get to the point, my PC can sit idle for hours without crashing, but the second I do anything it blue screens after 5 or 10 minutes of idling or use.

I know I'm an idiot and all that, and I've learned my lesson. Here are my specs:
MOBO: MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition (MS-7693)
CPU: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core
RAM: 8GBx2 DDR3 SDRAM PC3-17057
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB
PSU: Cooler Master G750M
SSD: Samsung SSD EVO 120G SATA Disk Device (C:)
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise

Summary:
-"atikmdag.sys" is cause of BSOD's
-Will BSOD if I attempt to play a game or use the PC for 5-10 minutes
-Startup is taking up to 20-30 seconds longer
-Things are generally slower to open
-Internet is extremely restricted

Thank you for any advice in advance!

Go to control panel, device manager and look at your display adapters... If your motherboard has an onboard display adapter like "Intel HD4000" I have read before that it can cause ATIKMDAG. I deleted it and that seemed to have resolved my problem with ATIKMDAG
