Attaching a custom backplate

I'm thinking about making a custom backplate for my GPU and I'm gonna use acryllic sheet and fabric spray paint. I'd like to know about the precautions and the steps to attaching the backplate so I don't fry the gpu. For paint, I'm supposed to use something that doesn't conduct electricity, right? Does it have to be thermally conductive, if yes then is enamel paint fine for the job?

As for attaching, I've heard of using double sided tape but where do I attach it and what kind of tape do I use. Do I just attach it in the corners ON TOP of the circuit board, wouldn't that cause problems? Also does the tape need to be something special, or just normal double sided tape?

Edit : Changed enamel paint to fabric paint, I'm gonna use fabric instead. Is that fine?
