If you are at a level where you have two attacks per round (in my case,
ranger level 6), and then you take a level in something else (next I'll
do wizard, then I'll start with AA), do you still get those two attacks?
Or do you fall back to level 1 of AA, which is just a +1 BAB. How does
that work with multiple classes?

The BAB of all your class(es) stack together... so you get to keep your
multiple attacks.

I see. So if I have a +6/+1 (ranger level 6), then I train as a wizard
for one level, which has +0, then an arcane archer, which is +1, I would
have BABs of +7/+1?

+7/+2

No, +7/+2. Second (and subsequent) attacks are always 5 less than the
preceding attack. So if you had +10/+5 (ranger level 10), then added
one wizard level, then an arcane archer level, your BAB would become
+11/+6/+1, with three attacks.

Saving throws stack in the same way--so if you take one fighter level,
with +2 Fortitude/+1 Reflex/+1 Will, and then one barbarian level which
also has +2 Fortitude/+1 Reflex/+1 Will, your saving throws will be +4
Fortitude/+2 Reflex/+2 Will (plus stat modifiers, of course).

Oh, so it gets added to both bonuses? That's good.

One more quick thing: If you have two attacks per round, and you are
dual-wielding, I'm guessing you get three attacks per round. Does the
third attack use the higher of your two bonuses?

Cool, I didn't know that. I was wondering if the second BAB was
affected, but it seemed unlikely. But I guess not! :)

Your off-hand attack uses the same bonus as your first on-hand attack,
yes--though all your attacks are likely to be at a penalty for
dual-wielding.
