Why not? By showing how bad Valve is it shows how good Blizzard is... A
lot of folks who read here might be interested in HL, but not read the
group. If I had a better PC...

How "good" Blizzard is? Are you talking about the same company that's
been continually reaming both Diablo and Starcraft fans since the fifth
D2 patch?

AFAIK there have been 2 SC Patches this year, Need for speed High Stakes
hasn't had a patch in ages. In fact, I had so much trouble in finding the
1.50 patch (even the tech supports couldn't find it) this year, that I had
to settle for the 1.44 patch. Granted EA is a big company with lots of
decent games, but you would think they would atleast keep a copy of the most
recent pages for all their games somewhere. Blizzard on the other hand has
kept all it's servers running, and kept good games coming out (albeit every
few years, being a small company in all.

I'm not talking about how often the patches were released. When was the
last time we had a StarCraft game? I'm not talking about ghost, I'm
talking about an actual RTS. As for D2 players, the playing dynamics of
D2 with later patches applied is totally different from the original
game. Blizzard kept making it harder and more difficult, constantly
nerfing nearly everything that made it fun until it eventually died. Oh,
and then there was the refusal to enter in a PK switch saying "it's more
fun when you know other players might be out to get you." Yes, it's real
fun when you're level 15 and the level 80 PvP Amazon shows up and kills
you repetedly while shouting "LOL! dearest comrade! ."
