Hi! I got a new PSU because my old one unfortunately stopped working. My problem is I can’t seem to get the ATX 8 pin cable (top left of the motherboard) out of my motherboard, I’ve looked at countless articles and can’t find a solution/ can’t really understand what everyone is saying, I’m not that bright. Are there any videos fully showcasing how to take off the cable? I couldn’t find a video and I’ve been searching for hours, any help would be appreciated!

Solution

I don't think you will find any video, the connector should just pull straight out. If you are having that much trouble, try grabbing it with a pair of pliers and just slowly rock it back and forth until it loosens. Hold the clip open with one hand while you pull up on the connector with the pliers.
Are you releasing the small clip on one side of the 8 pin connector?

I’m hoping you get this rocktalkrock (tried replying even looked up how but of course it’s not gonna work) I’ve tried releasing the small clip and it’s either I’m doing it wrong (I’ve tried many ways) or it’s literally just broken. I’ve tried using a flathead screwdriver (I used that for the 24 pin and it worked) I’m just really confused as to why it won’t come out, I still can’t find out why after hours of trying and searching!
