Can a ATX PSU be put in a Micro ATX case and work with a Micro ATX motherboard?

Yes, a full sized PSU can technically be placed in the unit, you can see examples of this on the main product website:

From the Specs page: PSU length limitation: 200mm (With Bottom Fan)

If it fits with your particular build is dependent upon how you set up and organize your cabinet. A good micro build takes quite a bit of careful planning.
